Someone who has spent a lot of the past few months watching Law & Order UK on BBC America created a viral video that crossed out desktops today. It reminded us of how many British TV favorites have shown up in the series. The strong cast of regulars includes Ben Daniels (The State Within, Aristocrats), Freema Agyeman (Doctor Who), Harriet Walter (Little Dorrit, Dorothy L. Sayers Mysteries) and Bill Paterson (Wives & Daughters, Hard Times). But it’s just as much fun to see who will turn up in the episodes: Juliet Aubrey (Middlemarch, Primeval), Dervla Kirwan (Ballykissangel), Lesley Manville (Cranford), Eddie Marsan (Little Dorrit), Iain Glen (MI-5, Season 9). See how many stars you can spot.

When will series 2 come out on DVD?
A great show. I was a cop in England many years ago. Brings back many memories.
I have series 1. I was gonna ask the same question. about when is series 2 coming. Sure things may be a little bit different. But not really. Because we are both after the same thing right. Justice. I love law & Order. Us & Uk.
Best of all the series. Instantly hooked on this gem. The characters thrash the American counterparts. Much more compactt than the U.S. series.
A great show for the involved viewer. Light years beyond the usual tripe offered over here. I love all the main characters.
Over the pond; let the BBC know how you feel about the programmes you love, or they won’t be there. It only takes a minute.
Cheers,
JV – in Canada
Actually….it is BETTER than “our” L&O….at least I don’t know the actors playing the bad guy/gal. IN U.S., I always knew “who done it” as soon as I saw the “well known actor”. Totally ruined it for me. Give unknown actors a chance to be the killer…..
I must admit though….I need closed-captions to watch British TV (especially Doctor Who).
love this series. Please tell me how I can purchase whatever is available on dvd.
Very nice, gives me a lot of inspiration being right in the midst of a redesign. It’s all in the details and comment forms are definitely overlooked more often than not. Time well spent on this post.
I love this series and note that the original U.S. scripts are being used with just a few changes. I hope it’s as popular in the U.K. dKeep up the wonderful work.
I love your show.. I watch all the L&O in America so this one has a place in my heart as I’m from the UK..
@ Kathy I watch BBC America and am a Closed-captions viewer, it seems like all of BBC shows are CC..
I don’t think L&O UK is better than America’s version. It’s in equal footing. The UK version is just reworking some of the original episodes to fit into their legal system which, btw, I find very interesting. So, if anything, the writers are just tweaking from the BEST. What the Brit version is doing (apart from showing us the workings of their legal system) is introducing to many of us yanks the various talents that the UK has to offer. I miss the original very much (thanks for nothing NBC), but at least I have the UK’s version to watch no matter if I’ve seen it already.
law & order/uk is a great show, not wordy as american
shows can be. dr. who, the tudors, etc are all great
series – keep up the great work;looking forward new
season of – being human.
We love this new version of Law and Order and can’t wait for the release of series two. The British characters are more real, more compassionate and they don’t have that New York need for constant snarky comments. So much better than the US original and we thought it was great.
Love the show! So tired of Ramsey and Star Trek and Top Gear reruns – glad to see something new. These are fine shows, but they’re in their 10th runnings!!
Bring back some comedies – family comedies that we enjoyed over the years, PLEASE. Graham Norton is the highlight of the dark week of Primeval and reality shows. Please, Please, Please!!!! Or newer dramas like L&O and Luther…just not 10,000 repeats. Thanks for listening.
I agree with KiwiKath – It can’t be that much cheaper to constantly run Gordon Ramsey’s shows constantly, and “ST:TNG” is already available on other channels for fans of that show to enjoy. Why not have weeks devoted to older BBC series from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s? Why can’t the BBC do a comprehensive run of “Doctor Who” from the original series on up to the Matt Smith run? Why not play some vintage programs like “The Professionals” or “Randall & Hopkirk”?
Love everything British and this clip is perfect
This show is excellent. The actors are remarkable. I hope this series continues. It is the best thing on T.V.
Love the little Law & Order video; it’s wonderful. Do more like these.
Love the show too! It’s great.
Love it!! I have always been a fan of Law and Order and this English version is better than the American version, ten times better!
Absolutely love the show. Schedule Friday night activities to watch L&O-UK. The cast is excellent! Wish they had more shows like this one on the BBC America channel here. Can only handle “Kitchen Nightmares & Top Gear” so many times in a week. Look forward to this show every week.
Ijust love the show.I try to watch it every friday keep up the good work BBC.
Great show…..as a Brit living Stateside for 14 years now, I love it when the BBC brings out a new show. Like other comments, why can’t you bring back older shows??
I agree with so much of what’s been said about L&O/UK. It’s great to see Jamie Bamber and Bill Paterson, two of my fave UK actors in a weekly show. I really like British TV, so seeing other familiar faces is a treat. I also agree with and add my voice to the pleas for more original programming! C’mon BBC America, bring us something to watch on the other nights of the week! And please keep bringing us L&O! Thanks!
I usually enjoy watching shows involving British courtroom dramas (and comedies – see John Mortimer). Any chance that Blind Justice (1989) will be coming out on DVD?
