A Minority of One: Frost and a black detective constable investigate residents at the Eastdean Estate housing project, where young, black men have been accused of a string of commercial burglaries. Frost feels responsible when an informant is murdered. The informant’s child is kidnapped and Frost embarks on a one-man rescue mission.

Widows and Orphans: Frost is reluctant to investigate a rash of break-ins at the homes of elderly citizens due to lack of evidence until an elderly woman is found badly beaten. A new female partner dispenses free advice on Jack’s love life and he asks Shirley Fisher to dinner.

Nothing to Hide: Frost gets a new partner whose attitude problem stems from a recent demotion. Is a drug addict’s death accidental - or is it murder? Frost deals with personal issues involving an old flame.

Stranger in the House: A serial rapist is on the loose in Denton. A teenaged girl is missing and Frost fears she may be the next victim. The investigation becomes jeopardized when Frost finds a possible connection with the victim’s father. Under pressure to remove himself from the case, he uses WPC Hazel Wallace to bait the rapist, placing her in grave danger.
