This stunning collection of Doctor Who specials - The Next Doctor, Planet of the Dead, The Waters of Mars and The End of Time, Part One & Two - is a must own for all Doctor Who fans.
The four imaginative, action-packed specials are the farewell to star David Tennant, and Russell T Davies, the mastermind behind the rebirth of the modern Doctor Who. The specials culminate in the dramatic regeneration of the Doctor, giving fans their first glimpse of the eleventh Doctor, played by Matt Smith.
The specials are packed with a terrific lineup of guest stars including Michelle Ryan (Bionic Woman), David Morrissey (State of Play, Sense and Sensibility), Lindsay Duncan (Alice in Wonderland (2010), Rome, Under the Tuscan Sun) and many more that we can't reveal just yet!
The Next Doctor
It's Christmas Eve in 1851 and Cybermen stalk the snow of Victorian London. When the Doctor (David Tennant, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) arrives to investigate a spate of mysterious deaths, he's surprised to meet another Doctor (David Morrissey, State of Play, Viva Blackpool), with his own sonic screw driver. How could this be possible? Could this Doctor be a future regeneration? But if so where are his memories? The two must combine forces to defeat the ruthless Miss Hartigan (Dervla Kirwan, Law & Order UK, Ballykissangel), who is the Cybermen's human ally. But are two Doctors enough to stop the rise of the CyberKing?
Planet of the Dead
The Doctor is back. Trapped on a desert planet without the TARDIS, he must team up with a mysterious, aristocratic thief to get back to Earth.
In the first of four Doctor Who Specials for 2009, Michelle Ryan (Merlin, Bionic Woman) and comic Lee Evans (There's Something About Mary) team up with David Tennant for the first time-lord adventure shot in High Definition.
Ryan plays the mysterious Lady Christina de Souza who joins the Doctor on a bus-trip which takes a very unexpected detour into danger, while British comedy star Lee Evans also joins the cast playing a character called Malcolm whose life becomes connected to the Doctor's under extraordinary circumstances... When a London bus travels through a worm-hole to an alien world, the Doctor must join forces with the extraordinary Lady Christina to help the unfortunate passengers, and themselves, get back home. But the mysterious planet holds terrifying secrets, hidden in the sand. And time is running out, as the deadly swarm gets closer...
The Waters of Mars
Don't drink the water. Don't even touch it. Not one drop...
The Waters of Mars is a dark, scary thriller that sees the Doctor land on the planet Mars, at a base in peril.
A creeping infection beneath the Martian surface threatens not only the human race, but also the Doctor's most fundamental beliefs.
Together with Adelaide Brooke - the base's commander, played by Lindsay Duncan - the Doctor must defeat a seemingly unstoppable menace before it can reach Earth, and wipe out mankind.
The Doctor must fight not only the water but destiny itself... Whilst also confronting his own existence, the prophesy about his future begins to resonate. Is his song about to come to an end?
Appealing to both young and old, and regularly bringing in massive audiences, Doctor Who has firmly established itself as the family drama in the UK since 2005 with a thrilling mix of adventure, epic storylines, scary monsters and great writing.
The End of Time, Part One & Two
Part One
It's the Tenth Doctor's final journey but his psychotic nemesis the Master has been reborn, on Christmas Eve. With both determined to cheat death, the battle ranges from the wastelands of London to the mysterious Immortality Gate, while the alien Ood warn of an even greater danger approaching, as a terrible shadow falls across the entire Universe.
Part Two
The Doctor faces the end of his life as the Master's plans hurtle out of control. With the sound of drums growing louder, and an ancient trap closing around the Earth, the Doctor and Wilf must fight alone. But sacrifices must be made, and the deadly prophecy warns: "He will knock four times."
