In a blend of light-hearted comedy and personal drama, Stephen Fry (Jeeves & Wooster) is Peter Kingdom, a kindly lawyer for the eccentric populace of Market Shipborough. The town's peculiar cast of characters includes finicky fishermen, nudists, cross-dressers, competing vegetable farmers and a reappearing debt collector. But Kingdom has his own troubles. His brother Simon has disappeared, and the only clue to his whereabouts-the clothes he left on a secluded beach.

Episode 1
Still nothing from Simon, so Peter takes on the responsibility of being a father to Daniel. Peter and Beatrice become god parents to Daniel at his mother, Honor's request. Legal cases include the WI trying to save a lighthouse, with dark associations for 2 sisters and 2 brothers fighting over the patch for a burger van.

Episode 2
Beatrice finds out some exciting news and both she and Peter deal with another more shocking arrival.

Episode 3
Peter represents a pregnant woman who wants child support from the missing father to be.

Episode 4
Simon wants to work at the practice again, and Snell has a proposition for Gloria.

Episode 5
Peter visits Cambridge to deal with a dispute involving his old Professor.

Episode 6
In the final outing for Series 2, Peter finds his offices overrun by some of Aunt Auriel's co-residents, and Simon's trial draws ever closer.
