Taking a journey that no parent wishes to make, literary giant Rudyard Kipling and his wife embark on a search for Jack (Daniel Radcliffe, Harry Potter films), their 17 year-old son who is declared missing during World War I. Much to the dismay of Kipling's wife, Caroline (Kim Cattrall, Sex and the City), Kipling (David Haig, The Thin Blue Line, Station Jim) had pulled strings to help Jack enlist, after the boy had been rejected for poor eyesight. Kipling, conflicted between love for family and love for country, penned the iconic lines: "If any question why we died, tell them, because our fathers lied." Based on the 1997 play written by and starring - then as now - the versatile David Haig.
