Predating The Big Chill by several years, The Glittering Prizes portrays the hopes and frustrations of an entire generation-but from another nation. Follow a group of friends who meet at prestigious Cambridge University in the turbulent late 1960s and then watch their idealism challenged with the arrival of the "Me Decade." Coping with compromise, real-world problems and varying degrees of success, they struggle in wonderfully entertaining ways. The strong ensemble cast includes Tom Conti (Shirley Valentine), Barbara Kellerman (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) and Nigel Havers (A Passage to India). Based on the semi-autobiographical novel by Frederic Raphael.
