Why do the least promising cases in London's small Willesden constabulary always seem to land on the desk of Detective Constable "Dangerous" Davies? Peter Davison (At Home with the Braithwaites, Doctor Who, All Creatures Great and Small) stars as Britain's most bumbling but beloved detective, whose old-fashioned decency and dogged determination help him solve crimes no one else wants to touch. Enjoy gentle humor and captivating intrigue in all 17 episodes of all four series. Extras include a Peter Davison interview and the original full-length 1981 movie, based on the novel Dangerous Davies: The Last Detective, by Leslie Thomas.

The Last Detective (Pilot) - DC Dangerous Davies is packed off on a waste-of-time investigation into the disappearance of James Ramscar. He and Mod uncover an unsolved disappearance and presumed murder from twenty years before.

Dangerous by Moonlight - Davies investigates the disappearance of a man whose wife seems strangely unconcerned about his whereabouts. Meanwhile, two ballroom dancing regulars discover a tragic secret.

Tricia - Davies is assigned to look after the victim of a vicious burglary, who believes the police aren't paying her enough attention. It soon becomes clear that she has a secret agenda, as Davies finds himself subject to the attentions of an obsessive woman.

Disc Three

Christine - Davies is called in to investigate the suspicious death of wealthy artist Maurice Leyman, found dead after a fire in the studio in the garden of his luxury home. His wife is rather calm about the whole thing and has a dodgy alibi, but Dangerous is reluctant to point the finger at her.

The Long Bank Holiday - Davies makes a gruesome discovery when he is called in to settle a dispute between neighbours over a leylandii hedge. The hapless detective is then called away to deal with a suspected suicide.

Benefit to Mankind
- Davies decides to toughen up after falling victim to a cruel practical joke by colleagues Barrett and Pimlott. He is then dispatched to investigate the death of a medical researcher. It looks like suicide, but Davies is convinced it's murder.

Dangerous and the Lonely Hearts - Dangerous Davies is on the trail of the killer of an Albanian refugee, and his search leads him to a dating agency - where one of the clients is someone he knows only too well.

Friends Reunited
- Dangerous investigates when a man is found dead after a college reunion party. The prime suspect is a reformed drug addict with no alibi for the time of death.

Towpaths of Glory - The body of a murdered ex-soldier is found dumped on a rubbish heap. Davies has to find the killer, but struggles to break down the fierce loyalties of the victim's artillery regiment.

Three Steps to Hendon - Davies uncovers a tragic tale of revenge, spurned talent and faded glory when he investigates the suspicious death of a faded, hard-drinking former rock star Teddy O'Connor, lead singer with 1970s Glam Rock boy band The Overnite Sensations.

Willesden Confidential - Davies investigates the spectacular death of stock car driver Geoff Fallon, and discovers that the motive may lie closer to home than he cares to admit.

Once Upon a Time on the Westway
- Jimmy 'the Gem' Vincent is murdered within 24 hours of his release from prison. Do his unpublished memoirs reveal the identity of his killer?

Dangerous' Liaisons - A recluse is found dead at home, and foul play is suspected. A cache of film reels leads to the solution of two murders.
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Willesden - A veteran comedian dies on stage. Davies investigates the world of show business jealousies.
