Cast Biographies
A young, enthusiastic vicar - who also happens to be a woman - is appointed to the sleepy country parish of Dibley. The congregation, all six faithful souls, reacts to her arrival with a mixture of wonder and horror. "You were expecting a bloke with a beard, a Bible and bad breath. Instead, you got a babe with a bob cut and a magnificent bosom," Geraldine explains to her new flock. Her appointment appalls David Horton, autocratic head of the parish council. Once it becomes clear that Geraldine does not intend to play second fiddle, David resolves to have her removed. Meanwhile, he becomes her implacable opponent. Undaunted, Geraldine steps full of unbridled confidence and unbounded optimism into Dibley's quaint world, where her parishioners include some of the most addle-pated eccentrics under the English sky. In the course of events, Geraldine and Dibley come to terms with each other, and join forces to revitalize the parish together.
Join the eccentric residents of Dibley for unexpected holiday excitement in two hilarious specials.
Merry Christmas - You don’t often see a supermodel in her undies in the village vicarage. As fast as rumors can fly, the entire village of Dibley believes their chocoholic female vicar, Geraldine, is one of England’s first lesbian vicars.
Happy New Year - Convinced once more that their vicar’s heart beats to a heterosexual drum, the villagers give her a surprise she’ll never forget.
