Prostitution, pedophilia, extortion, mutilation, rape and murder are all in a day's work for the vice squad of the London Metropolitan Police. Walk the beat on the sleazy side of life in the inaugural season of this gritty police series which includes three two-part 60-minute dramas. In Daughters, DI Pat Chappel (Ken Stott, Charlie Wilson's War, Rebus) works as hard keeping the city safe as he does keeping his home and work lives separated. In Sons, WPC Cheryl Hutchins (Caroline Catz, Murder in Suburbia) goes undercover to nail a producer of hardcore S & M videos featuring underage boys. Dabbling finds PC Raymond (Marc Warren, Dracula) unable to resist temptation during an investigation of drug traffickers. Also stars David Harewood (Blood Diamond) as SDI Joe Robinson. Recommended for mature viewers.

Daughters, Part 1 - DI Chappel has to contend with a dead prostitute and a turf war between two violent pimps. He needs a prostitute to give a statement, but she is torn between her her affection for the DI and her fear of the pimps.

Daughters, Part 2 - DI Chappel renews his efforts to nail a pimp after her attempted murder, but when he fails to persuade her to testify, the squad is left combing the streets of London.

Sons, Part 1 - PC Hutchins takes on more than she can handle while working under cover, when she discovers that a night club boss has a side line in S&M films. This also brings back painful memories to her boss Pat Chappel, who remains haunted by his failure to protect a rent boy from death at the hands of Alex Davies. Dr Weir tells Chappel that her personal life is conflicting with her role counselling his staff.

Sons, Part 2 - PC Hutchins is making slow progress in her bid to find the young boy who was involved in a porn film, but believes his parents are hiding important information about his past. Meanwhile Chappel's professional relationship with Christina becomes personal.

Dabbling, Part 1 - The Vice Squad is seconded by the Drug Squad to crack an escort agency that is working as a cover for drugs trafficking and prostitution. PC Raymond's professional interest in the escort business quickly turns personal.

Dabbling, Part 2 - The investigation into the escort business is jeopardised when PC Raymond takes his interest in prostitutes to a personal level. Chappel investigates the blackmail of a new life peer.
