Episode 1: All Day & Every Day

Episode 2: Hands Across the Sea
As the American fliers take a beating over the skies of Germany, tensions also rise on the home front in Market Wetherby. When a drunk airman is accused of assaulting young Letty Mundy, Dr. Dereham reaches out to the American major to keep the peace.
Episode 3: The Milk Run
Letty's wheeler-dealer Uncle Sid arrives from London with suspiciously hard-to-find stockings and booze, and strikes up a friendship with one of the Yanks. Letty herself falls for a young American officer about to set out on "a milk run"-a supposedly safe mission over Germany.
Episode 4: One Step Forward, Two Steps Back
Sally Bilton, a young mother whose husband is serving in North Africa, befriends Mac, a sergeant from the base. The chill between Dr. Dereham and Major Kylie begins to thaw, but fistfights among rival servicemen show Anglo-American relations are still rocky in the village.
Episode 5: The Big One
Goodwill starts to flourish in Market Wetherby as Sid organizes a special Fourth of July dance for the Americans and the locals. Meanwhile, Kylie heads off on "the Big One" over Germany.

A group of airmen head up to London for some R & R. Meanwhile, with her injured husband back from the war, a conflicted Dr. Dereham has to decide how she feels about Major Kylie-and what she intends to do about it.

The two men in Helen's life eventually meet-and Sally Bilton is shocked to discover that she has two men in her life as well. The police close in on Sid's booming business, and the secret his niece has been hiding finally comes out.
Episode 8: A Wing and a Prayer
One of the American airmen marries a local young woman, and then heads off on a dangerous mission over Germany. The police take a keen interest in his shady colleague, a known associate of Uncle Sid.
Episode 9: You'll Never Know
When Sally Bilton's husband walks out on her, she and Mac must decide if they have a future together. Helen and Jim contemplate the same question, but her husband makes the choice more difficult.
Episode 10: Old Enough to Fight
Jim opts to do the honorable thing, but soon he and Helen are showing the strain of being apart. When the major's work at the base begins to suffer, Letty's brother, Peter Mundy, reckons it's time for him to get into the fight.
Episode 11: One Day at a Time
Jim's decision to get directly involved in the action brings him into contact with Helen again. The war claims another victim in Stan Bilton, but his death complicates matters for Mac and Sally instead of simplifying them.
Episode 12: Exceptional Circumstances
As Helen spends more and more time at Jim's bedside in the hospital, she increasingly has to choose between the major and her family. Meanwhile, Peter Mundy finds opportunities are opening up for him now that he's joining the army.
