Can a modern blended family find common ground and learn to coexist? They can, as long as they stay Wild at Heart. In this hit British drama series, widower and veterinarian Danny Trevanion (Stephen Tompkinson, Brassed Off, Ballykissangel) and divorcée Sarah (Amanda Holden, The Grimleys) are madly-in-love middleaged newlyweds. But all is not well in their combined household as tensions simmer between the stepparents and their three stepchildren. Tired of treating the pampered pets of others and seeking escape from his own domestic woes, Danny takes the family on a trip to Africa. But their much-needed vacation turns into an unexpected vocation when they decide to make a living restoring a rundown game reserve deep in the bush. As the Trevanions adapt to their new life and nurture the wild animals around them, they begin to heal their own wounds as well.

Episode 1 - Danny and Sarah Trevanion take their family to Africa to return a vervet monkey to the wild and enjoy a much-needed vacation. Danny gets exasperated with stepson Evan, and hostility flares between Sarah and stepdaughter Rosie. Could Africa really be the change they all need?

Episode 2 - The Trevanions get up close to the local wildlife-a marauding lion, a deadly cobra, and a grizzled and bad-tempered old Afrikaner who wants them to help him run a game reserve. They also meet the owner of a rival reserve, who seems more predatory than any wild animal.

Episode 3 - As the Trevanions and their business partner, Du Plessis, try to build up the reserve, Sarah's ex-husband unexpectedly arrives with his young new wife, determined to take his children back to England. The family's African adventure seems about to end prematurely until a voice of reason appears from a most unlikely source.

Episode 4 - Sarah searches for Evan and Olivia, who have run away after a series of rows, while Danny and Du Plessis look for a half-drugged lioness that has escaped from the reserve. But what if the wild animal proves to be the best tracker of them all?

Episode 5 - The females in the elephant compound are getting along better than those in the Trevanion household-and the first paying guests arrive at a reserve without electricity or lighting. Somehow, the rival game-reserve owner seems to have a hand in the mess.

Episode 6
- Danny and DuPlessis suspect poachers have been killing the wildlife and take arms to root them out. Soon the Trevanions discover an even deadlier threat to the reserve, one that endangers the human residents along with the animals.
