The Royal Mint Queen Elizabeth I Commemorative Crown Coin

On November 17, 1558, crowds gathered outside the Palace of Westminster to hear heralds proclaim Elizabeth, daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, as Queen of England. Four hundred and fifty years later, the Royal Mint celebrates the beginning of her golden reign with a limited-edition commemorative £5 coin, inspired by Elizabeth's magnificent "Armada" portrait by George Gower.
